Homebrew Bloodied Fallen Angel Species Details

Physical Description

A bloodied fallen angel is an angelic creature with wings dripping with crimson blood and blotchy red skin. They are usually thin, nearly emaciated, but are still quite muscular with dark eyes of red, purple, or black. The blood of their wings ripples with the songs of their victims, and they refuse to cover or fix the many scars across their bodies; some are even self-inflicted. They cannot stand still, always fidgeting and shaking when forced into one place or sitting down. Despite being so intimidating, one cannot help but pity the pain and fear and shame that can never leave their eyes.

History

Bloodied fallen angels come into existence when a demon corrupts a Fallen Angel, forcing them into eternal torment. They are a symbol of war and chaos for many and are typically feared by men of peace and revered by men of violence. Over the centuries, very few fallen angels have been seduced so deeply into evil, and most who do are killed by their brethren soon after. They are the enemies of all creatures, and very few have been able to avoid being hunted, typically by giving their lives in service to someone else.

Society

Bloodied fallen angels cannot earn a place of high social status amongst mortals or celestials, as they are both feared and hated for who they are. Religious figures are wary of them, and so they are almost never allowed in holy sites of temples or churches. They are often nomadic, traveling to points of war and conflict just to feed their insatiable desire for death. Those who aren't are typically serving some greater master or masters, like some sort of weapon of war to be hidden away when it's not needed. Some scholars even call them "the demon's direa", despite them having nothing to do with the dirae.

 Bloodied Fallen Angels reach maturity at 16 and stop aging and have no known life expectancy as they are expected to live in torment for all eternity.

Alignment

Bloodied Fallen Angels tend towards more chaotic alignments, however, there have been lawful and neutral bloodied fallen angels.

Size

 Bloodied Fallen Angels can range anywhere from under 5 feet to over 6 feet. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet. You have a flying speed of 30 feet, but you cannot use this speed while wearing medium or heavy armor.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Eternal starvation

 You no longer need to eat or drink and cannot consume food or drink. If you ingest any food or drink, you become poisoned until the end of your next turn.

Combat Awareness

Whenever you make a Wisdom (Perception) check during combat, you are considered proficient in the Perception skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, and either Celestial or Infernal.
