Homebrew Armadillian Species Details
These creatures very heavily resemble wood lice, or as most call them, "roly polys". Much like their tiny cousins, they sport an armored shell that they can retreat into should things prove too harsh for them.
Armadillian Traits
The Armadillians have features that make them a hardy addition to any party, and certainly able to survive on their own.Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Hard Shell
Due to your shell and the shape of your body, you are ill-suited to wearing armor. Your shell provides ample protection, however; it gives you a base AC of 13 + your Constitution modifier. You can only wear armor custom fitted to your body.
Defensive Stance
Using your action, you can curl into a ball, using your armored shell as a shield. This grants you extra protection, but makes it easier to push you around. You gain +4 AC while in this ball, but you have disadvantage on Strength saving throws to avoid being pushed.
Amphibious
As a terrestrial crustacean, you still need some level of water for your gills to function. Your gills allow you to breathe underwater.
Iron Gut
Due to your naturally strong stomach and hardy immune system, you can safely eat rotting foods, mold, and fungi. You're also much harder to poison, granting you advantage on saving throws against poison and disease.
Darkvision
Your tinier cousins do most of their scrounging in the darkness of night, and it certainly translates to you as well. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
