Homebrew Black Bear Species Details

Black bears are the smaller, lighter cousins of the Brown bear. What it lacks in strength and size, it makes up in agility. Master climbers, these bears are unmatched in forest settings. Though they tend to be passive, they are still formidable foes and should not be taken lightly. At their peak, black bears can reach up to 800 lbs, and can lift 3 times its body weight. Highly dextrous, they can master fine motor skills that many other bears struggle with.

 

Black bears reach maturity at about 5 years of age, and can live up to 20 years. Their size changes drastically throughout their lives, with cubs being small creatures, adolescents being medium, and adults being large.

Black bears, even civilized ones, are capable of great violence when pushed. If they feel threatened, they can return to their natural ways in the most brutal fashion.
