Alynthi are a sturdy and long-lived race, reaching physical maturity around age 1,500 and live until they are killed. They are not an immortal race, but they reach a certain level of ageless-ness when they reach roughly 7,000 years of age.

Maneuvering in a smaller form can prove to be convenient, so Alynthi have adapted. Also seen as something of a fashion sense to some, Shells grant the Alynthi a more approachable form for those outside of their race.

Normally, their monstrous True Forms can vary from Large to Huge, but with Shells, they can present and function as Medium creatures.

Alynthi can see in the dark up to 60 ft in full color as long as their Shell Form has eyes.

An Alynthi's Constitution score increases by 2 and their Wisdom score increases by 1.

All Alynthi have been gifted with the ritual of Shell Form. Used for either convenience, fashion or otherwise, Shells have become a staple in Alynthi culture.

Shell Form changes an Alynthi's otherwise bestial form into a bipedal, humanoid form of their own design. It also changes their size from Large or Huge to Medium, allowing them to fit into such spaces and minimize their weight.

They are also given an improved Unarmed Strike, based on the aspects of their Shell. Choose Claw, Horn, or Tail for 1d6 + your strength modifier damage of the respective type.

When the Shell Form is broken, an Alynthi's True Form HP is their HP multiplied by their Constitution Modifier (nonapplicable if the modifier is negative).

Alynthi know Common, Alynthi and can learn a language of their choosing.

Resistant to Nonmagical Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage.
