Homebrew Desert Elf Species Details

As a desert elf, you have a natural resilience and a keen instinct. Your light steps carry you quickly through your native dunes and your variation of trance helps you travel long distances without issue. With many of the desert elves living below grown within sunlit caverns and relying on their druidic magic to maintain the microclimate that sustains their food plants and trees, some have an innate tendency towards druid craft.

Desert elves' skin tends to range from Terra Cotta to Dark Umber browns, although the influence of the strong arcane forces in the Hinterland has also introduced shades of blue and purple that match the colorful and mineral-rich desert sands. Their hair tends toward dark browns and fair yellows, but it is occasionally black or platinum-colored. Their eyes are usually yellow, brown, or hazel and their features are more angular and deeply etched.

As a Desert Elf, you have traits that have shaped your kind to be suited to the heat of the desert sun.

Ability Score Increase

Your natural resilience grants you +1 Constitution to deal with the difficult desert conditions. You gain +1 Wisdom due to your knowledge of the sands and the harsh desert lands in which you reside.

Desert Dweller

You naturally adapted to hot environments: you automatically pass Constitution checks made to avoid exhaustion as a result of extreme heat. Furthermore, you ignore difficult terrain caused by sand.

Mirage Magic

In tune with the essence of the desert, you can summon forth a fraction of its power even far from its drifting sands. You know the Minor Illusion cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Longstrider spell once per day. When you reach 5th level, you can also cast the Blur spell once per day. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Survivalist

The desert sands are harsh and unforgiving to many. To grow and thrive in these lands you must know how to survive in a seemingly endless expanse where so many have fallen. You have proficiency in the Survival skill.
