Homebrew Buglin Species Details

Buglin's are the offspring of Goblin's and Bugbear's. The result is a hybrid that combines that short stature and aggressive nature of Goblin's and the flexibility and long reach of Bugbear's. Buglin's are distinct from their pure-bred counterpart through their scruffier and hairier appearance, but the most glaring and significant difference are their long slender arms that can extend as long as 5 to 6 ft. Larger than even their own bodies. Their awkward limbs often require them to use their arms as makeshift legs, making them slower than pure Goblin's. Yet despite their arms slender appearence they're much stronger because of constant usage making their attacks pack quite the punch and grapples by Buglin's to be dangerous.   

Buglin Traits

Your Buglin character has the following racial traits.

Grappler

Due to their long limbs, Buglin's make for effective grapplers. Gain advantage when rolling to grapple against an enemy a maximum of one size greater than you. This effect does not apply in escaping from a grapple. 

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Age

Goblins reach adulthood at age 8 and live up to 60 years.

Size

Goblins are between 3 and 4 feet tall and weigh between 40 and 80 pounds. Your size is Small.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Long Limbed

When you make a melee attack on your turn, your reach for it is 5 feet greater than normal.

Nimble Escape

You can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of your turns.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Goblin.
