Homebrew Yochlol Species Details

Alignemt: Yochlols are typically evil beings, and many tend toward the chaotic side of the alignment. Regardless, Yochlols can be patient and cunning, valuing cunning and subterfuge over brute force or open hostility.

Immunities: Poison, poisoned condition

Natural Armour. 12 + Dex

Magic Resistance. +(floor((level-1)/4)) to applicable saves, if bonus > 3, advantage instead.

Shapechanger. The Yochlol can use its action to polymorph into a new form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is carrying ins't transformed, except when entering mist form. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

• Drow - The Yochlol can transform in their drow form. Each yochlol has a unique drow form that matches their gender.
• Spider - The Yochlol transforms into a Giant Spider.
• True - The Yochlol transforms into its true form.
• Mist - The Yochlol transforms into toxic mist, and gains a flying speed of 30ft. It has advantage on Strength, Dexterity, and Constituition saving throws, and is immune to nonmagical damage. It can pass through any space that isn't airtight. Any creature that starts its turn in the mist must make a DC (8+Proficiency+CON) saving throw. On a failed save, they are poisoned for one turn. While poisoned in this way, they are incapacitated. The mist form has a duration of: floor((level-2)^(4/3)) * rounds /day. This duration can be divided among multiple transformations.

Spider Climb. The Yochlol can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Web Walker. The Yochlol ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing.

Poisonous strike. Its strikes infused with vemon from the abyss, the Yochlol's attacks do an additional (1/2/3/4)d6 poison damage at levels (1/5/11/17). This applies to both unarmed strikes, and melee weapon strikes.
