Homebrew Dabloonian Species Details
ORIGIN Tabaxi relatives.
Dabloonians are long distant relatives of Tabaxi. Tabaxi ancestry can be traced to thousands of years ago. it is suspected a group of Tabaxi created their own civilization and became interconnected far from other creatures slowly evolving into Dabloonians over time. However, Dabloonians evolved to be entirely distinguishable from Tabaxi. Most notably by appearance...
APPEARANCE 2.5ft, small little cats.
Dabloonians reach a max height of 2.5ft, they're small and far less humanoid than the Tabaxi. Their appearance resembles that much more of a house cat that can stand on two feet (though Dabloonians are drastically more intelligent). However, they have larger eyes and flatter angular faces. Dabloonians also have pelts only ranging in different shades of black and grey with males having white markings ranging anywhere from large splotches to smaller forehead markings. The rarest most unlikely coat is a striped orange. You might also distinguish them by noticing a Dablooians cultural or common capes...
Clothing... Dabloonians have capes that range from what would look like colorful carpets with many intricate designs to average brown capes for warmth. A few tribal Dabloonians hold strong beliefs in ancestry which they wear on their backs with colorful capes. However, there aren't many Dabloonian tribes left so, far more Dabloonians wear more practical and style-driven capes.
Mischievous & little "hello traveler!"
Dabloonians are mostly known for being friendly & generous! They love taking in wandering travelers to shelter them, feed them delicious meals, and adorn them in their possessions and coin! However, Dabloonains have their own currency (Dabloons) so those coins don't do much unless travelers find use trading them in for items amongst other Dabloonians. Dabloons are incredibly important to Dabloonians who are economically inclined to be great bankers and financial advisors. However, this does lead to some slightly mischievous activity surrounding your dabloons. Those little thieves... Dabloonian pirates, thieves, and gangs search far and wide to steal dabloons. However, you'll find even Dabloonian pirates, thieves, and gangs are incredibly kind fellows (They can't help it). They are great traveling buddies and generous traders. Just hold on to your coin purse...
Social & Pleasant "four Dabloons for your journey!"
Dabloonians are joyful creatures! Rarely traveling alone, they cherish the company of others immensely. Their love for social presence is presumably the reason for their generous personalities. They're gracious and caring, with strong values surrounding family and friends. They have close-knit communities and are very accepting. Willing to try new things and eager to appease new friends!
Dabloonians are compassionate and uplifting creatures with no room for tolerance or pity for those who have wronged them. Nevertheless, they're patient and will wait for their enemies to pay.
Humble Greetings "Why don't you come with me, friend?"
Naturally, Dabloonians are likable and outstanding social creatures but they can be quite reserved for being so outwardly. Friendly yet passing it is rare to form a lasting bond with a Dabloonian without a fleeting moment. They come and go as little blessings to common folk leaving dabloon trails in their wake. As a Dabloonian this comes with no shame and regret because they love meeting new people and experiencing an exciting adventure with a stranger.
Cozy Quarters little feet, little creatures, little cozy homes.
While avert to large bustling cities with many different races they do enjoy their own company in many variations. They live in any forested area with no preference for climate. They range from interconnected tree dwellings to tree trunks, burrows, and cabins. They always house in Dabloonian towns or in pairs. None of their hierarchies last long since they're prone to rebellion but this leaves a generally calm community that holds each other accountable and lead together. In their darkest times, they turn to Elders for guidance and don't have armies or need for artillery.
GIVE, GIVE, GIVE They love to trade.
