Homebrew Avali Species Details

 

Ability score increase.

Due to their crafty, innovative, and exploratory nature, Avali gains a +2 to their intelligence score.

Blindsight

Due to having 4 ears and a high sense of danger- Avali has become so aware of the sounds around them that their hearing acts similar to that of blindsight. This blindsight range for Avali is 30ft, as they are acutely aware of their surrounding noises at all times.

Advanced Perception

Due to their sensitive hearing, the Avali gain advantage on hearing-based perception checks.

Avali has an acute sense of awareness that, with their 4 long ears, can pick up on sounds that many others may not be able to.

Feather Gliding

Whilst unimpeded by medium or heavy armor, an Avali can Glide using their wings.
Due to their wings, they can slow the speed at which they fall.

They have a Glide speed of 10ft.
They must keep moving for this ability to work. If needed, while Gliding, if they need to avoid a creature, debris, or other aerial items that could impede them, they can make the decision to drop; allowing themselves to convert their forward momentum into downward momentum instead.

For Example: If an Avali is falling from a cliff face that stands at 100ft in height, for every 5ft they fall, they can Glide forward by 10ft. Assuming that the terrain below is safe enough for them to land, within 2 minutes of this unimpeded process, they would land safely, 200ft away from their falling location.
