Homebrew Dragon Soul Species Details
The first Dragonsouls were born into the world when a town of nomadic people crossed into hostile Dragonborn territory. The nomads were looking for a refuge from Drow pursuers. The Dragonborn attacked and slew most of the people. A powerful dragon had followed them and used his power to give seven infant children a chance to live as half-dragons. This event was to be known as bonding. Any dragon who performed this act later would be called a draconic partner. They were taken to safety by the dragon, who was significantly weakened by donating enough blood for them to survive.
The new creatures were shunned by the other sentient races of the world because they were partially draconic. Finding the outskirts of civilization easier than the oppressive towns, many turned to adventure to find purpose, redemption, and for some, revenge.
A dragonsoul has the body of the original race, with patches of scales or draconic runes covering parts of their bodies. Their hair, eyes, scales, and runes are the colour of the draconic partner they have. Many are innately magical, and more charismatic than their original species.

The Dragon you were bonded with bestows its breath weapon damage type you as a resistance. The breath used for metallics can be their debuff-based breath i.e. enervating breath for a silver dragon. This would make you resistant (advantage on saves) to that effect rather than a damage type.

Draconic Pulse
You gain the ability to imbue your unarmed strikes with your energy. This damage dealt is 1d10 of your damage that you have resistance to from the draconic resistance feature. This damage increases to 2d10 at 3rd, 3d10 at 7th, 4d10 at 12th, and 5d10 at 17th. You can use this as many times as your proficiency bonus. All uses recharge after a short rest.

Your equipment can either fall to the ground where you were or be absorbed into your new shape, your choice. You retain the ability to cast spells up to third level. You can change into a dragon as an action, and out of dragon form as a bonus action. Your dragon form being reduced to zero knocks you unconscious.
