Blackscale

As I was walking through a swamp cautiously, I realized I was on the sidelines of a fight.
Alone stood a great Blackscale, nothing like the lizards I've seen before...
He was fighting against the shadowslain, crushing and breaking them with all of his anger and might.
After taking down four of the five opposers, he grappled the last one, and threw him quite a distance into a tree.
The strength a Blackscale possesses is what would cause me to have nightmares, if they weren't neutral beasts.

Most of the content present is from 3E, and the concept of a Blackscale is not my own, I turned it into a race simply because I thought it'd be fun to play, and I might as well share it with you all. It will be a variant of Lizardfolk once I purchase Mordenkainen, and I will probably be deleting this version, if you would be wondering where it went. (Disclaimer Disclaimer, If you've already made a race/subrace/variant whatever, I'm sorry but I've not seen it. Didn't mean to copy you in advance, and please comment if I have.)

Background

Blackscales are a different variant of Lizardfolk, living within forests and swamps, usually in a group of 20-30. They are large, slow (mentally and physically), but extremely strong creatures. They are believed to carry black dragon blood within their lineages, evidence being the dark-hued scales, larger size, and greater strength. Blackscales are rare to see today, considering the war between the Shadowscale and Lizardfolk tribes. Unlike the common Lizardfolk, most Blackscales left the magical, religious times behind them, preferring to crush and kill creatures with common weapons like clubs instead.

Appearance

Blackscales are around 8 feet, to even 14 feet tall, however it is rare for Blackscales to grow beyond 10 feet tall, and extremely rare for beyond 12 feet tall. They also weigh around 400lbs to 800lbs, but only the very muscular and big Blackscales have such a weight. Blackscales usually have red, yellow, or green eyes, and they have tails about 4-6 feet long. Where hair usually is among humanoids, Blackscales have a leathery crest. Finally and oddly enough, Blackscales have a distinct, red throat.
