Homebrew Slimefolk Species Details
When an outsider first sees a group of slimefolk, they would be forgiven for mistaking them for humans. It is not until drawing closer that the shimmer of vibrant blues, reds, or greens can be seen. They appear, at all times, to be coated in a thin slime like substance, tinted a color unique to both the slimefolk, and the location they were born. Slimefolk born near the sea or lakes and rivers tend towards a blue hue, while those from hotter, dryer climates tint red. Forests and swamps turn them a dark green while mountains and cold climates give them a white hue. Unfortunately for outsiders, they have the ability to completely change their appearance, almost on a whim, and they seem to love doing so. As such, it can be very hard to keep track of the same slimefolk for more than a few days.
In conversation, the slimefolk are quite affable and happy to help those around them.
The exact origin of the slimefolk is unknown. Some say that they're the result of a mad wizards experiments in giving oozes sentience. Others place the blame on demonic beings, trying to create an indestructible foot soldier. Regardless, what is known is that, for the most part, the slimefolk are much like humans.

Indeed, the oldest known slimefolk is well over 800 years old.
Alignment
Slimefolk, given their natural propensity to serve, tend towards no particular alignment. Rather, they tend to adapt to the alignment of the group they are in. When they do form groups with each other, they tend towards Lawful Neutral. They do so to have a social structure and hierarchy for social cohesion more than a tenancy towards rule following.

Slime Body
A slimefolk's body is made of a gelatinous material. To the touch, they seem to be coated in a thin, viscous slime at all times. While they usually hold themselves together in order to interact with other races, they can, when needed, loose much of that cohesion. When hit by an attack, a slimefolk can grant themselves resistance to bludgeoning damage until the start of their next turn.
History of Servitude
While the exact origins of the slimefolk are widely, and sometimes hotly, disputed, there is one thing that has been discovered. The slimefolk were originally a servant race. In time, however, they threw off their chains, the intervening years having built up their resistance to charms. Now, they are loath to be charmed, and harbor an innate distrust of any who use such magics.
You have advantage on saves against being charmed.
Ooze Resilance
Slimefolk are notoriously hard to kill. Even when unconscious, they don't loose their innate ability to hold themselves together. In addition, being struck while unconscious is much less of a threat, as they have no vital organs to protect.
You have advantage on death saving throws. In addition, strikes against you while you are unconscious do not critically hit, though they do still always hit.
Amorphous Body
Slimefolk are made of a gelatonous substance, which they have full control over. Because of this, they can remold their body. While it does take some time, and it is work, they can do it almost at will.
Slimefolk can cast Alter Self, only choosing the change appearance option, once per short rest. You cannot change your size to anything other than medium. In addition, your body will always appear to be coated in a thin layer of largely clear slime.
