these ancient beings were resurrected by the great Dagorok Flapsnap himself, with a machine capable of creating a perfect specimen based on only one DNA sample, the machines original purpose was to clone Dagorok to lighten the work load, but then, in a field test, he decided to put in a fossil from 45,234,632,649 BC in to test it's limits, and resurrected an extinct species. he then of course did manage to clone himself and achieve semi-immortality. but that isn't the point, the point is that these archaeans are from before life itself, they are exceptional swimmers, climbers, burrowers, and fliers, the only thing they are not very good at is walking. they still haven't got that down.
