Homebrew Zora Species Details

The Zora are an amphibious race, native to the waters of Hyrule. They are split between the fish-like Sea Zora and the reptilian River Zora.

You can speak, read, and write Common and aquan

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity, or Wisdom score increases by 2.

age

Zora age slower than most the races of Hyrule, reaching adulthood at around 45, but living for as long as 300 years. Zora who have reached full height are considered Large.

Aquatic

As a Zora you have powerful swimming muscles, giving you a base swim speed of 60, and have an advantage on all swim checks. You are equipped with gills as well, allowing you to breathe underwater.

Lanayru's blessing

You gain the Shape Water cantrip and can use it at will. You additionally gain access to the control water spell and can cast it once per long rest, or utilize class spell slots.

Darkvision

You can see in darkness as if it were dim light, up to 60 feet.

Thunder's kiss

Zora are extremely weak to Lightning damage and gain vulnerability to it. But due to their aquatic nature and natural resistances, you gain resistance to Acid and Poison damage, and have advantage on poison saving throws.

 

Fin blades

Your fins are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 2d4 + your Dexterity modifier + Your Proficiency bonus, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike

Zora weapon training

You have proficiency with short bows, longswords, shortswords, shields, spears, tridents, and light armor.
