Homebrew Aurak Draconian Species Details

Aurak draconians are born from gold dragon eggs. They are powerful sorcerers at birth, and often led small armies of draconians into battle. Unlike other draconians, aurak draconians are wingless. Although this may make them appear weak, auraks can breath fumes that disorient and fatigue their opponents. Aurak draconians were originally created to be weapons of war; but now that war is over, they have had to find purpose in a recovering world. They often become leaders for adventuring parties despite their frail appearance. This allows them to use their abilities to the fullest.

Aurak Draconian Traits

As weapons of war, aurak draconians have specific abilities that are used for a purpose.

Ability Score Increase

You can increase one score by 2 and another by 1, or you can choose to increase 3 different scores by 1.

Size

Aurak Draconians normally stand between 5 to 8 feet tall and average around 200 to 500 pounds.

Speed

You have a walking speed of 30 ft.

Truesight

Within 20 ft. you can see in magical darkness, see invisible creatures and objects, automatically detect visual illusions and succeed on saving throws against them, and perceive the original form of a shapechanger or a creature that is transformed by magic.

Commanding Shout

Allies within a 15 ft. sphere of the aurak draconian can't be charmed and have advantage on saving throws made to avoid or end the frightened condition.

Sturdy Scales

As a warped version of a gold dragon, you have sturdy scales that make you resist poison damage.

Toxic Fumes

One of the abilities that helped the aurak draconian in war was their noxious breath. You can choose between two versions of these disorienting fumes when you make a aurak draconian character.

- During combat you can breath noxious fumes to disorient the enemy. You breath the fumes in a 15 ft. cone, and each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 6 (1d10) poison damage and gains 1 level of exhaustion. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage, doesn't gain exhaustion, and is immune to all the effects of the noxious breath for 1 minute. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain expended uses after a short or long rest.

- You gain the poison spray cantrip, it counts as a class spell but doesn't count against the number of cantrips you know.
