Homebrew Bloodborn Species Details

Description: Bloodborns are creatures born from the willpower of others, when over 25 people are slaughtered but had not made their peace with death a blood born can be born. Bloodborns carry with them all the emotions and rage of the creatures that died before them, whilst also holding scattered memories of each creature that died to form them. Bloodborns have all the normal features of a humanoid except without the heart. 

Appearance: Bloodborns are formed of any age with characteristics of many different races that were used to form them. e.g. if a trifling and a human died in a massacre the blood born may appear human with a trifling tail.

Society: Bloodborns, are considered a bad omen, heartless and monstrous. As their whole existence is based around a slaughter of innocents.

Goals: Bloodborns can have many goals, common ones are to either stop other bloodborns from forming by eradicating evil from the world, join the evil of the world and embrace the chaos that created them, follow a memory of one of the creatures that formed them, go on a quest to alleviate themselves of the memories that haunt them and find happiness.

Personality: Bloodborns can never live a fully happy life, they are always haunted by the fear of their body falling apart and turning into a pool of blood when the willpower of their creators burns out. Bloodborns cannot sleep, when they try they instead are greeted by memories of their creators causing dark fears and deep emotions of rage, vengeance, or regret. Bloodborns will thus often be cold, hesitant, with a deep sorrow in their eyes. In addition to this when bloodborns are formed they retain all the fundamental knowledge of how society functions, how to speak certain languages, and awareness of how they came about.

Life: Life for a blood born is often lived as an explorer, a schemer, or a hermit. Many bloodborns prefer places where they are alone as they then only have to deal with the memories of the people that made them rather than other creatures living and talking.
