Homebrew Ashlati Species Details
Flesh Fit For Fighting
Ashlati are considered to be a warrior race, their bodies are strong, though and agile. They look like a mixture of humans and monkeys, they stand on two feet but their big toe and small toe are further appart from the rest of the other toes, giving them wider feets than humans and making them look like a weird mix of a hand and a foot. They have short fur covering a few parts of their bodies, ussually across their back and necks connecting to their prehensile tails. Their faces look like a human's but they are ussually enveloped by hair all around their face exposing only the front part of their faces, this facial hairs are of the same color as their normal hair which are always spiky and tend to unaturally stick to a single style for the rest of their lives.
Duality in life
Most Ashlati live in the ash feeled wastelands of Kangal in tribalistic societies, where they keep waging wars with one another for resources, but some of them managed to escape that scenario into the outskirts of the surrounding territories. These people mostly keep to themselves, living in the outskirts trying to get out of trouble, this is hard for them due to their warrior blood, some of them manage to join monasteries to train and study martial arts while at the same time seeking peace through spirituality in an effort to keep those bellic instincts in check, the ones that stay with the tribe are loyal to a single leader which they call king. Strength and toughness are more valued than wits and respect is gained the stronger the warrior is, for them a strong warrior is a honorable person as long as they help bring food to the tribe, and leaders are choosen for they prowess in battle, because of this most leaders die rather early and the eldest are the ones that understand that the world is not just black and white, these types of leaders have a few shamans that they trust that guide them. These shamans are respected due to their connection with the spirits that they worship but if a warrior wanted to become a shaman, this would bring to them gread dishonor and it would be dificult for them to regain that respect.
Beast of War
In Ashlati society shamans speak of a great beast called the Urazoo, this entity is worshiped by Ashlati warriors to give them strength and vitality in battle. The Urazoo is connected to the Ashlati in a deep spiritual level, some say that the Ashlati are descendents of the Urazoo and legends speak of the best of warriors transforming into this great beast, channeling a lot of destructive power, enough to wipe out entire armies on its own.
Ashlati naming culture
Ashlati are extremely connected to the land and since food is scarce in the Ashy Wastes of Kangal, they tend to give great importance to it, they worship spirits from the land that they believe will bring them good fortune, health and well being in general, as such, they name their children after foods or types of food with some kind of twist in the word, kind of like a pun, naming their children like this gives them a funny and positive outlook in life in general and they believe that this positivity will please the spirits that bless them and the land. Food is important to Ashlati, and wealth in their culture are measured on how much their tribe eats. Eating a lot is good for Ashlati health, they consume a lot of energy and so have big appetites. Here are some examples of the Ashlati naming style: Maet (Meat), Cereac (Cereal), Beat (Beat root), Elpa (Apple), Cier (Rice).

Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Ashlati. The Ashlati language works only by combining spoken sounds to different hand gestures, these gestures influence the way the words are interpeted, since without this gestures the language becomes incomprehensible, only shamans and leaders know how to write it and read it. Don't forget to add Ashlati language post sheet creation to the languages and proficiencies section of your character sheet, since Dnd beyond doesn't allow to add costum options to the character creator itself.
