Homebrew Baal Tiefling Species Details

"You are all fools for thinking this is a way of harming me," A Baal Tiefling yells as he is stabbed through with a spear, "I have a cozy place waiting for me with my father once I die, your just helping me get there!"

"Silence demon spawn!" a man in the crowd if from of him screamed. 

A second spear pierced through the Tiefling, causing him to cough up a little blood. The descendent of Baal started laughing, as his vision started to go dark, as he died, he erupted into a pillar of blue flames, showing that he truly was worthy of joining his father in the deepest pits of hell.

Tieflings descending of Baal typically have the worst life on the materials plane, as their father is seen to be one of the greatest villains of all. Lots of Baal Tiefling turn evil not from being born of Baal, but from years upon years of hatred that others spew at them. Few are able to overcome the hatred that they receive, but those that do often just take the many hits that are thrown at them, as to not be labeled a villain more than they already are in the eyes of those around them.

Infernal Bloodline

Tieflings descending from Baal often look like humans, however they may have a colored tint to their skin that would give them away as Tiefling. The easiest way to identify a descendent of Baal is if they have either toad or feline like features, which they receive from their fathers bloodline. Baal Tieflings often have pointed ears, sharp teeth, however this can vary from each descendent. Baal Tieflings can have three different choices of tail, a demonic tail, which is the same color as their skin, a feline tail, which may be covered in a lair of hair, or no tail, each tail coming from possible traits, with a feline tail being for those with feline traits, no tail for those with toad traits, or a demonic tail for those who want a normal demonic tail 

Self-Reliant and Suspicious

 

Baal Tieflings have no real place of orgin located on the Material Planes, and can be located almost anywhere, however they are rare as their father isn't likely to create deals with mortals, as those who make deals with him often need to sacrifice a great amount. Baal Tieflings often rely on themselves, believing that others are below them and their bloodline. They rarely join groups, and when they join groups with other Baal Tieflings, they often try to one up each other to gain their fathers approval. If they die with their fathers approval, they erupt into a pillar of blue flames, otherwise nothing happens when they die

Tiefling Names

Tiefling names fall into three broad categories. Tieflings born into another culture typically have names reflective of that culture. Some have names derived from the Infernal language, passed down through generations, that reflect their fiendish heritage. And some younger tieflings, striving to find a place in the world, adopt a name that signifies a virtue or other concept and then try to embody that concept. For some, the chosen name is a noble quest. For others, it’s a grim destiny.

Ignorant people tend to be suspicious of tieflings, assuming that their infernal heritage has left its mark on their personality and morality, not just their appearance. The reality is that a tiefling’s bloodline doesn’t affect their personality. They are gifted with magic from the infernal realms but chart their own course in life.

Descendent of Baal

Being a Descendent of Baal allows you to tap into Baals mastery of invisibility, allowing you to get advantage on any stealth check that you make.

Ability Score Increase

Your Intelligence score increases by 1, and your Charisma score increases by 2.

Age

Baal Tieflings mature at the same rate of Humans, however they live much longer than humans, however, often exceeding 200 years.

Size

You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you select this race.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

Thanks to your infernal heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Hellish Resistance

You have resistance to fire damage.

Baal's Legacy

You know the Minor Illusion cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Invisibility spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
