Homebrew Ashen vessels Species Details

"Made by evil wizards of old, these heartless beings roam the lands of sorrow, looking for a soul to call their own"- Eragon  Xontemint.

These Humanoids are formed from the ash of volcanoes and magical fire. they wander around aimlessly until a soul enters them.  The soul then takes full control over the body, allowing it a second chance at life. However, the body is weaker than the average human and disintegrates in water. they also take the form of the soul's original body (except for the colors of the body). They do retain the traits of the original body

Ashen vessels are a mix of light gray, gray, and black. their eyes, and mouths glow red with the fire burning inside them. they are bland and simple (until a soul enters them). they have two eyes, and a mouth. they don't need to eat and can't feel pain (physically).

If a character uses the spell "bound soul" (my custom spell) their soul is bound to this world they can enter an ashen vessel to control it, and regain their life (mostly)

USEFUL BUT NOT USEFUL

Ashen vessels can be used to regain life, but they are pretty lame, and most people would rather pass on to the afterlife. (Soul bound can be undone with the spell "soul freer" also a custom spell). Even though ashen vessels seem useless, but they can pass through iron bars. Also, there is a way to get your body back, if you find the magic item "ring of ash and flesh"(also custom) you can turn a possessed ashen vessel into the soul's former body (if they take of the ring off, they turn back into an ashen vessel).

Your ability scores each increase by 1.

consumption of fire

if your hit with fire or in extremely hot climates, you have an advantage and rolls an extra 1D8 during melee attacks

Age

Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live less than a century.

Size

Humans vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice. Humans typically learn the languages of other peoples they deal with, including obscure dialects. They are fond of sprinkling their speech with words borrowed from other tongues: Orc curses, Elvish musical expressions, Dwarvish military phrases, and so on.
