Homebrew Dracomond Species Details
Dracomonds
Dracomonds look like a hybrid of a Dragonkin and that of a great jungle cat. They have clawed hands and feet, and their coat of short fur tends to be in the colors of the prairie. Males and Females are roughly the same size; around 350 lbs. and 7 to 8 feet in height. However, Dracomonds can also stand on their back feet to be almost 13 feet in height. They have fierce feline eyes that can see almost as well in the dark as they can during the day. They also have a tough hide that does offer them some natural protection. They are primarily carnivores.
They organize into hierarchical tribes that range in size from around 100 to 500. Each tribe has an animal symbol that they identify with that is emblematic of their combat tactics. Within those tribes they form close family groups or prides of about 10 to 20 Dracomonds. These relationships are very close and are only ever broken when a Dracomond reaches adulthood and travels to another herd or pride to form these bonds again. When interacting with other Dracomonds there are strict codes of conduct that govern how someone of a different tribe, social standing, or pride. If the individuals status is unknown, it is up to the player to determine their actions. Violations of these rules are usually settled with combat or the appropriate gift. This has led to many unfortunate disagreements when interacting with other races.
A Dracomond that has been expelled or leaves a tribe voluntarily will almost immediately seek out a new "tribe" or "pride" made up of whatever intelligent beings it can find. When a Dracomond is not with members of its "pride", it will tend to be indecisive and can easily fall to the sway of a persuasive voice. If they cannot find a new "pride" or are forcibly separated from them it gets worse. This does not occur if they are on a "mission" for their pride.
Dracomonds tribes follow and manage great migrating herds of plains fauna. These can range from bison, antelope, reindeer, elk, wildebeests, or any other large herd animal of a region. They manufacture goods and salt meats from these animals that they trade with other tribes and occasionally human settlements.
Twice a year at the equinox, tribes gather together to interact and party at the changing of the seasons
Dracomonds physically mature around the age of 12, and after the celebration of their 12th year they must go on a quest. Usually it involves hunting down an animal and defeating it in combat or "retrieving" something from another tribe. Occasionally these quests are more involved. The young Dracomond will return to it's pride most of the time, sometimes it will join another pride or tribe, and very rarely they will travel out of the ranges and join an adventuring party.
Dracomond Traits
As a Dracomond, you have the following racial traits.Overrun Attack
If you move at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hit it with a melee weapon attack on the same turn, you can immediately follow that attack with a bonus action, making one attack against the target with your front claws.
Muscular Build
You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push or drag.

You have claws that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
