Homebrew Calliket Species Details
Born from the union of Tlincalli and a human, Calliket are more human-like in their appearance but bear a striking resemblance to their Tlincalli heritage; sporting long claw-like fingers, four eyes, scorpion tail, and a hard outer carapace.
The Calliket are to bridge the gap between the barbaric Tlincalli and the civilized races in the world. They tend to earn their living through trade, escort, or mercenary groups for hire. When young they learn about geography, battle tactics and religion. Typically, their tribe worships the Amaunator.
When they are young they are made to perform a rite of passage to earn their divine powers from the Amauntor. Pending on their upbringing, the rite performed may be evil, neutral or good in nature.
Calliket Traits
Your character has the following racial traits.Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Alignment
Most Calliket are true neutral. Residing between lawful good societies they emissary with and those of their fathers the Tlincalli's neutral Evil.
Size
Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Poison Resilience
You have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the poisoned condition on yourself. You also have resistance to poison damage.
Natural Armor
You have Carapace skin. When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Constitution modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
Stinger Grasp
You can grasp things with your stinger. It has a reach of 5 feet, and it can lift a number of pounds equal to five times your Strength score. You can use it to do the following simple tasks: lift, drop, hold, push, or pull an object or a creature; open or close a door or a container, or make an unarmed strike. Your DM might allow other simple tasks to be added to that list of options.
Your stinger can’t wield weapons or shields or do anything that requires manual precision, such as using tools or magic items or performing the somatic components of a spell.
Deathly Stinger
When a creature attacks you, or someone friendly to you within 5 ft of you, you can extend your stringer to attack them as a reaction.
The on a hit the creature takes 1d8 poison damage. This spell's damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).
