Homebrew Wize Fairy Species Details
Chilling in big forests, the fairy's love peace and elf's. Many fairy's don't know what other races are due to them keeping to themselves and their stay at colony based culture. They are alone, cute little, people, and caring, their colonies functioning as a mini community and rest place for other fairy's who travel.
Human Mannerisms
The resemblance of fairy's to half elf's isn’t limited to physical features. fairy's display many of the same mannerisms as ordinary half elf's/humans. They are however peaceful beings who don't care for fighting (but they will still have knights and guards as defenders), wearing clothing similar to a half elves and humans. There is a common rumor that fairy's are actually cursed humans and half elves (or at least started as them) but sooner they became there own thing. When they explore for food and land because they see something, they tend to often come in packs of 3 or 5 so they can actually pick up things like berries which are about half the size of a tall fairy.
Many fairy's speak elvish as a second language to common. A fairy is scared and likely hates humans due to the fact that many try to kidnap fairy's for their magical wing dust.
The idea of war baffles most Fairy's. After all, who wants to die? Even when explained to them, they initially find the notion of war evil and only for violent people. Also fairy's who have little interaction with other races might be a nuisance as they drop from the sky to harvest berries.
Shiny, glittering objects catch their eyes and may get them to investigate what they saw.
They find it hard not to take a looksee at the glittering or shiny objects and bring it back to their home to use it for decoration. A fairy who spends years among other races can learn to not be as closed minded to humans or half elves.
Confinement terrifies the fairy's. To be grounded, trapped underground, or imprisoned by the cold, unyielding earth is a torment few fairy's can withstand. Even when sitting on a high branch or at rest in their mountaintop homes, they appear alert, with eyes moving and bodies ready to take flight.
Homelands
Most Fairy's live in small colony's that use magic to be hidden from the normal eye, usually these tribes exist in huge forests that are easy to get lost for safety.
Once fairy colony's settle in an area, they have a village that extends across an area up to 1 mile on a side (keep in mind how small they are), with each colony living in the lands furthest from humans or half orcs city's
A typical colony consists of a bunch of, mushroom-roofed houses made of mushroom skin, (and community buildings like the town bar and such). They all have equal power to one in other but the town founder -and children- acts as a very respected person with no extra power. But it varies between colony.
Fairy's enjoy peace and mostly each other. Most if not all are content with living in their colony due to them being so different from everyone else. For this reason, it takes an exceptional circumstance for an fairy to leave his or her colony and undertake the adventurer’s life. Neither treasure nor glory is enough to lure them from their colony's; a dire threat to their people, a mission of vengeance, their colony being destroyed, or a catastrophe typically lies at the heart of the fairy's adventurer’s chosen path.
Two other circumstances might call an fairy to adventure. First, all Fairy's can use magic and for this reason, humans and other creatures who cant do magic hunt them to use stuff like their wings for magic dust (while yes it is a drug its not as bad as meth) to use on stuff like swords or armor to make them more powerful.
Second, Fairy's, -on the rare chance of not being content with their lives. May choose to become nomads and help travelers find their way to safer places, or get them to their destination.
Fairy Names
Fairy's tend to have names similar to humans (totally not because I'm lazy)
