Homebrew Doggon Species Details
doggons are the best omg!!!! we love pets and chase our tails and are so perfect!!!!!!! please be a doggon!!
Doggons are Tellestia's second most populous common race. While they do also live among kittan populations, doggons have found their niche of Tellestia in the northeast—there they have found great cultural and physical diversity in the relatively small area they call their home.
Many Shapes and Sizes
Despite having stayed largely in the same region for most of history, doggons are the most physically diverse of the common races. There is no typical doggon. The range of heights, weights, colors and sizes varies greatly depending on the subrace of doggon being observed. Some doggons are even so unpredictably large compared to other races that they lack accommodations in buildings outside of doggon-heavy regions. Doggons reach adulthood in their early teens and rarely live beyond half a century. (It is highly recommended to base your Doggon off of a real-world dog or breed of dog).
______'s Best Friend
Doggons are characteristically known for being insatiably loyal (though this doesn't apply to all doggon individuals) to those around them, for better or worse. While this is often overly assumed of doggons as a stereotype, doggon society does place great value on being a good friend to others. This tenant of doggon society has earned them a good reputation with the other races of Tellestia as being trustworthy and loyal individuals.
Doggon Ethnicity
Doggons are most widely known for coming in so many different shapes, sizes, colors and so on. Due to this, there are quite frankly too many ethnicities to list. So instead of listing them all, simply talk to your dabloon master if you wish to know your doggon character's specific ethnicity.
Doggon Traits
It’s hard to make generalizations about doggons, but your doggon character has these traits.Ability Score Increase
Your Strength ability score increases by 2 and your Constitution ability score increases by 1.
Age
Doggons reach adulthood in their early teens and live roughly half a century.
Size
Doggons vary greatly in height and build, usually being somewhere in the range of around 6 inches tall to 20 inches (though some doggons exceed this). Your size is Tiny.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision
Thanks to your animalistic heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Menacing
You have proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
Gaming Set Proficiency
You gain proficiency with the gaming set of your choice.
Stunning Bark
You unleash a powerful bark at a creature you can see within range. If the target can hear you, it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become stunned and forfeit its next turn. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short rest.
Toothy Bite
As a Doggon, your species has evolved to have very sharp teeth as a means of intimidation and defense. Your teeth are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. You are proficient with your bites.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Wulf.
