Homebrew Worker Antfolk Species Details
Antfolk have insectile features and two pairs of arms. Their bodies are encased in protective chitin. While antfolk can be small they are powerful as they can move and pick up things that weigh several times their own body weight.
Although antfolk don’t sleep, they do require short periods of inactivity. During these periods, they are fully aware of what’s happening around them.
Antfolk in the colony communicate with each other by clacking their mandibles and waving their antennae. Other creatures find this method of communication difficult to interpret and in most cases impossible to duplicate. So to interact with other race, Antfolk rely on magic for a form of telepathy.

You are a Monstrosity.
Size
You are Medium or Small. You can choose the size when you select this race.
Speed
Your walking speed is 30 feet. And you burrowing speed is 5 feet.
Hard Exoskeleton
You possess an hard exoskeleton, while you are not wearing armor, your base AC equals 13 + your Dexterity modifier.
Darkvision
Due to living in an unground colony your eyes have adjusted to allow you to see in dim light within 60 feet of yourself as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
Secondary Arms
You have two slightly smaller secondary arms below your primary pair of arms. The secondary arms can manipulate an object, open or close a door or container, pick up or set down a Tiny object, or wield a weapon that has the light property.
Sleepless
You do not require sleep and can remain conscious during a long rest, though you must still refrain from strenuous activity to gain the benefit of the rest.
Hive Mind
Living in a hive mind colony has made it difficult, if not impossible, to speak to outsiders. In order to speak to those of a different race you require magic to create a telepathic link. This link gives you the ability to transmit your thoughts and feelings mentally to a willing creature within 120 feet of you. While the creature you contact doesn't need to share a language with you it is required to be able to understand at least one language. The telepathic link you create can be broke if you and the creature move more than 120 feet apart, if either of you is incapacitated, or if either of you mentally breaks the contact (no action required).
Small yet mighty
Thanks to your innate strength and ant nature you count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity or the weight that you can push, drag, or lift.
Burrowing
Antfolk are exceptionally good at digging, this allows you to dig out a 5 by 5 foot cube of dirt that is within 5 feet of your character. Burrowing does cost an action to use.
