Homebrew Wedrin Species Details
The Wedrin are a race of bipedal, humanoid, wolf people who typically live to 80 years old, they are known for their agility and strength but also because of their skill in hunting and good perception primarily their sense of smell.. Most Wedrinian Cities, Towns and Villages are usually located in forested areas and are typically built in caves and large caverns or inside of deep ravines. These Cities, Towns and Villages are usually quite magnificent and beautiful due to how intricate the architecture is and fascinating the layouts are. The Wedrin are renowned for their skill in hunting and high perception which is why many travel to their civilisations as many want to partake in their annual hunts or to simply come and watch and experience them and the culture of these individuals and some come to hire Wedrin for their skills as they can make good mercenaries and good bounty hunters.
The Wedrin can often be seen as intimidating for their appearances as they look quite similar to wolves in many ways, for example despite the fact that they are humanoid in shape they are covered head to toe in fur like a wolf, and of course have a wolf head with paw-like hands and feet and they of course have thick furry tails. The coats of a Wedrin come in a variety of different colours and patterns similar to wolves themselves, and their eyes also vary in colours some having blue while others may have brown, green or silver/grey. Wedrin are able to stand anywhere from 4 foot tall to over 6 foot and weigh anywhere from around 90 lbs to 250 lbs. Wedrin don’t reach adulthood until the age of 18 and usually only live to about the age of 80 though some do live longer, though at most a century.
Wedrinian civilisations all have their own cultures, traditions, customs and histories surrounding them but in most of these civilisations you’ll find an extreme importance and many events surrounding hunting. You can often find Wedrin civilisations in forested areas built inside of caves, caverns or inside of ravines and they are usually hidden as best they can. The traditions, culture, customs and history of the Wedrin will always outlive the Wedrin as it is carved into the surroundings of their homes to constantly tell their stories. The Wedrin live with a love to hunt and fight, and prove their strengths which is why some go into the adventuring life as they see it as a new kind of hunt or challenge of strength. And with their strength and natural agility they make for excellent protectors or barbarians, and their intimidating appearances help ward of their foes.
Wedrin hold their culture, traditions, customs and history extremely close to them, they make sure that everything is taught to their young and new generations though be warned as these folk are not too trusting of outsiders and will guard their history from them. The Wedrin often carve their history into the surroundings of their civilisation though not in any language that you or I speak, one that only the people who live in their civilisations know. These people are extremely guarded and untrusting of outsiders though despite this you can find individuals of other races living amongst them.
Wedrin who seek and go out on adventure are surprisingly not too uncommon, these individuals often seek the thrill and challenge of adventure and view it as a challenge of strength and as a new form of hunt. Some do go out on this path as they want to make a name for themselves or their homelands or because they really just want to make a difference. Overall it just depends on the person and who they are.
Due to the fact that there are a variety of different cultures among the Wedrin there are many different names, though there are some common names shared among these different cultures though they may hold different meanings or cultural significance.
