Homebrew Tyrant Species Details

In the depths of a lab somewhere long hidden, monsters are being grown. Nasty, killing things with little regard for the lives of others, and among them stands the deadliest of them all, a titanic mass of deformed muscle and bone shaped into what may resemble a human body, the pinnacle of bio-engineering and viral modification... the Tyrant. Straddling the line between man and beast, these manufactured creatures are second to none in terms of versatility, sent in to destroy what their creators can not. With this in mind, it raises the question; if one of these Tyrants were to take the reigns of their own lives, so to speak, then what would become of them? A monster among men, striving to live as it sees fit as they carve out a place in a world that was not made for things like them, facing persecution not only from those who seek to eradicate those born from the viruses teeming in their systems, but also from their once creators attempting to gain back control of their wayward lab experiment gone rogue.

Weapons With Minds

With nothing but themselves to keep alive, Tyrants live very individual lives and rarely work with others. This is not to say that they refuse to operate in close quarters with things like them- quite the opposite, actually. Tyrants are often deployed in pairs and simply split up to do their own tasks.

Uncontrolled Tyrants are a different story. Highly territorial and not enjoying the presence of anything with comparable strength to themselves, they often lash out if intimidated and do not take kindly to challengers.

Tyrant Names

Upon their creation, each Tyrant is given a code or model number to identify them by. As those free of their chains often find their past lives as nothing but numbers and letters as an affront to their newfound path, they will give themselves new names after enough time has passed and they gain enough self recognition to do so, often picking short words they had encountered to make their own with little care or understanding as to what these words actually mean.

Some more intelligent specimens even name themselves similarly to what they were before, twisting what was once a meaningless string of numbers and letters into a new (and at times comical) title.
