Homebrew Warhorn Species Details

"A mighty dragon had attacked our campsite, burning everything to mere cinders with it's thunderous breath. Smoke had filled my lungs as the creature had left me to die by myself. I was inches away from seeing the gods before my very eyes, when I saw something extraordinary. a beast that stood ten foot tall, with a cry that could pierce the heavens had appeared. It's horn beastly, yet it's appearance almost holy. It had scared off the dragon with a simple click of its hooves, leaving me to ponder what had even happened."

- Aeliur Liedon, Half-Elf explorer on his first sightings of the Warhorn

Standing tall and proud, Warhorns are unicorns modified for war. Warhorns were originally horses, bred for generations with Feywild magic and remnants of unicorn genes to make them stronger against dragons. Through time, they had evolved to stand on two legs, wield their horns as weapons, and became great attackers. Now they strike fear and awe into the hearts of many, especially with their tall and fearsome stature. They often boast a very prideful personality due to their reputation of fighting dragons, but not every Warhorn is the same. While being bred by mostly Satyrs, it isn't uncommon for elves to travel alongside them to ward off dragons.

Ability Score Increases

When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. Follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy. The “Quick Build” section for your character’s class offers suggestions on which scores to increase. You can follow those suggestions or ignore them, but you can’t raise any of your scores above 20.

Languages

Your character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Player’s Handbook offers a list of languages to choose from. The DM is free to modify that list for a campaign.
