Homebrew Yordle Species Details
According to legend, the first obstacle on the way of the Lich King's army to the city of Fleet was a lone paladin from the Yordle race, who challenged the army of the dead ... But this is only a legend, but legends can be true.— Kas the Bloody, apprentice of Vecna
Yordles are possibly one of the oldest sentient races in Faerûn that still exists. They descended from faeries several thousand years ago. The earliest yordles are said to have been an underground miner-folk whose ancient tunnels are still hidden beneath the city of Fleet. Due to their vidiordles, they seemed weak, which often became a mistake for wild creatures and those who want easy money.
External difference
Yorkies are sometimes sexually dimorphic and are much shorter than humans; both sexes rarely exceed 1 meter in height, with an average of 0.5 to 0.8 meters. The texture of their skin varies from lightly furred to moderately fluffy and eventually overly furry. Their hands have four fingers, while their feet vary greatly depending on the person (from four to two fingers). Due to long exposure to innate magic, skin color varies on a much wilder spectrum than other races. Most male yordles have orange-brown fur, while female yordles remain smooth-skinned or have very light blue or white fur.
Longevity
Yordles have exceptionally longer lifespans than most humans, due in part to their innate magic and faerie origins. Yordles have an average lifespan of 500 years, but for most of that life they appear to be young. They are generally a peaceful and friendly race, often marked by traits of fun and mild mischief; their moral compass most often points to goodness and benevolence. This does not mean, however, that they are incapable of cruelty and evil. In fact, a yordle kept in isolation for too long, especially from contact with other yordle, runs the risk of becoming withdrawn and sullen. Some of those who are already more focused on malevolence will in time become eminently malevolent. These yordles often turn their desire for social interaction into a desire to find others to inflict pain and suffering on, but such examples are very rare.
