Homebrew Aerus Species Details

The Aerus are a proud race, though assumed to be descendants of the Dire Wolf this race seems to reject their ancestry and refuses to associate with their more wild brethren. The Aerus are very commonly paladins, barbarians, or soldiers. Aerus come from large families, packs, and are expected to bear many young after mating for life. The Aerus share one common pack-name, translated to a last name, and a noble first name given at birth. Aerus are an adventurous race and its common for Aerus to go on long adventures in their adolescence. Once returning home and bearing young, many Aerus name their pups after friends and allies they've met along their adventures. Most Aerus are affectionately given a childhood nickname based on one of their defining traits, similar to dragonborns. A clumsy pup may be nicknamed "Stumble" or a quick pup named "Fleet". Aerus are typically called their childhood nickname up until their mid adolescence, around 15 to 18 years, where they merge into using their first name primarily and their childhood name only by family and old friends.
