Homebrew Yokai Species Details

during the age of creation, mother gaia gave birth to a demon God, Haryoun unlike other gods haryoun saw no need to create lesser images of himself. At least at first. Sworn to a code of honor amongst gods. Haryoun would not meddle in other gods affairs directly. After witnessing the distraught and pain these creations had brought across Gaia, the demon god split his soul into twelve sections creating the 12 yokai clans. To bring ordsr back to the chaotic world that lies below.

The Fox Clan:
commonly known as Kitsune, the fox tribe are cunning they carry their lords knowledge. Capable of pulling themselves out of almost any bind.(( members of the Fox clan gain +2 to CHA checks and saving throws.))

The Oni Clan:
One of the strongest of The Yokai Clans the Oni are endowed with their lords power and pride. One of the most religious of the yokai. They live to serve their lord. ((Members of the ogre clan gain +2 to STR, and STR Saving throws.))

The Tengu Clan:
Known far and wide, These masters of flight embody their lords free spirit and fiery passion for life. (( members of the bird clan gain +2 to DEX and 60ft flight speed and Advantage on DEX saves.))

The Nure-Onna Clan:
The Nure Clan comes in many forms. They are sly and elusive. Rare to spot. Harder to escape. (( members of The Nure Clan gain a +2 to DEX Saves and can take the disengage action as a bonus action. ))

The Ayakashi Clan:
The youngest of the clans. The spirit clan are known for their ability to instil  their fathers mounting dread. (( Members of the Ayakashi clan gain +2 to WIS and gain Proficiency in Intimidation. In addition Ayakashi may move through solid objects 3 times a day Resting at dawn.))

The Inugami Clan:
The canines of the the Inugami Clan are rambunctious and hearty yokai. Known for their combative and hunting abilities.(( members of the Inugami clan gain a +2 t CON and access to hunters mark.))

The Gomo Clan:
The clan of the arachnid are skilled silk weavers and are the head of the yokai assassins clan. Skilled in the art of execution. (( members of the Gomo Clan gain a +2 to DEX and Advantage on saving throws

The Deep:
The Yokai of the seas know themselves as the deep, they keep to themselves and are known for their ability to call sailors to their death.(( members of the sea clan gain +2 to CHR and Advantage on CHR saving throws.))

The Nekomata Clan:
Members of the Nekomata bring good fortune to those who meet them. Unfortunately this luck is fake. Taking from others to fulfill another's desires.((Members of the Nekomata clan have a +2 to INT and will return from the dead 9 times at dawn.))

 

Yokai Traits

Ability score increase.

Yokai are a ever improving race, as such they are gifted with an unnaturally high talent from birth. They gain a +1 to a chosen stat.

Will of The Yokai

Yokai are driven by their soul to fallow the will of their creator, this will keeps them loyal to the will of the world and by its law to keep a lawful alignment. As such for each act they commit towards the will of the world they gain traits based on their level of service. 

Unblooded: no bonus

Blooded: gain blood scent.

First Hunter: +20 to movement when hunting a marked target.(( gained after 5 hunts.))

Pale blooded: hunter of the human race. Pale bloods gain advantage when rolling against humans.

Vile blooded: hunter of demons. Vile bloods gain advantage when rolling against demons.

Beast Blooded: Hunter of beastial races. Beast bloods gain advantage when rolling against beasts and beastial races.

Old Blooded: hunters of the old blood, they hunt aincient races thought long forgotten. Gaining advantage when rolling against targets with an age of over 5000.

God Eater: the strongest of their kind these yokai hunt and kill gods for their crimes against nature. They gain immunity to miracles and acts of godly wrath.

Yokun.

Yokai with a dextarity stat of at least 18 gain Yokun, allowing them to move their full movement in an instant uncontested. 

Sinner Sight.

Having been created to stop those who break the laws of the world. The Yokai can see the weight of a person's sins shown through a mark that appears upon the skin visible only to those gifted by gaia. This mark appears different for each yokai. Most common versions are a red X and the mark of the clan.
