Homebrew Banshee Species Details

Banshees are female spirits who haunt families and to see one or hear their wail means that death is coming to you or a family member.

While many see Banshees as only bringers of death and despair, Most are only the messenger that death is coming.

Whether old or young, all can agree that a Banshee carries the burden of death. Wherever she goes and through no fault of her own, the pale rider follows behind

 

Creating Your Character

At 1st level, you choose whether your character is a member of the human race or of a fantastical race. If you select a fantastical race, follow these additional rules during character creation.

Ability Score Increases

Your Dexterity score increases by +2 and your constitution increases by +1

Languages

Your character can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan

Banshee Traits

As a Banshee, you have the following racial traits.

Banshee Wail

As a bonus action you can let loose a ear-splitting wail to frighten your enemies, everyone in a 10ft circle around you must make a wisdom save. On a fail the targets are frightened by your for a minute. On a success, targets are not frightened

You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest

Your walking speed is 30 feet.

Spectre of death

As a bonus action, you can magically teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see, you appear ghostly and translucent. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

 

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.

Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the charmed condition on yourself.

Harbinger of Doom

You have proficiency in the Intimidation skill

Necrotic Resistance

You have resistance to necrotic damage.
