Homebrew Vampire Species Details
An immortal nightmare from ancient folklore, the vampire is an abhorrent undead creature of unnatural darkness. Born from men, women, and children that are corrupted by vampiric powers, they are cursed with an unquenchable hunger for the blood of the living and an essence that is twisted by undeath. As a result of their monstrous and manipulative nature, a vampire will often maintain a clandestine existence in civilisation. A town or city can provide an abundance of innocent creatures to devour and exploiting the social and political complexities of the population is a stimulating method of accumulating power.
Vampire Traits

Your Charisma score increases by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice increase by 1.
Age.
Vampires are immortal creatures and do not age, but can die from mortal wounds. In addition, a vampire can die if it does not consume blood for a few days.

You gain proficiency in two skills of your choice.

Undead.
You are an undead creature and do not require food, water, or air to survive. Your body is cold to the touch.

Vampiric Power.
As an action, you can cast Darkness, Disguise Self, Haste, Misty Step, or Suggestion without the material components. You cannot cast Haste on a target other than yourself. If a spell requires a creature to make a saving throw, the DC is calculated as follows: 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
Exsanguinate.
As an action, you can bite one willing creature or a creature that is grappled, incapacitated, surprised, or restrained and drink its blood. The bite is an unarmed melee attack and deals 1d6 necrotic damage + your strength or dexterity modifier. You can use your proficiency bonus and strength or dexterity modifier for the attack roll. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and you regain hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
Vampiric Weaknesses.
Vampires have the following vulnerabilities:
Sunlight Hypersensitivity. You take 4d10 radiant damage when you start your turn in sunlight. While in sunlight, you have disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.
Forbiddance. You can't enter a private residence without an invitation from one of the occupants.
Stake to the Heart. If a piercing weapon made of wood is driven into your heart, you are paralyzed until the stake is removed.
Bloodlust. As a vampire, you are cursed with a voracious hunger for blood. In order to sustain your existence, you are required to drink the blood of creatures that are labelled as Humanoid or Beast. The blood cannot have been spilt for longer than 1 minute to satiate your hunger. If you have not consumed an appropriate amount of blood within a 24 hour period, you must succeed on a DC25 constitution saving throw or gain 2 levels of exhaustion. The next time you consume the lifeblood of a creature, you can remove all levels of exhaustion. The Dungeon Master will determine the amount of blood that you need to consume in order to survive.
