Homebrew Alea Slime Species Details
Slimes are a hearty race born from the magical energy of the world around them. They simply exist with little to no purpose until they become large enough to grow the "organs" that give them their 5 senses and their incredible ability to digest almost anything.
Slimes in their own right are very rare; however, when they are found, they are usually observed near places of power, like old ruins, battlefields, or other natural places where magical energy courses through the land.
Slimes, left unchecked, can live through an entire millennium; having no true organs and living solely on nutrients and pure magical energy, their lifespans are greatly bolstered.
Slimes, choosing to represent themselves as either humanoid creature or simple gelatinous mass, can vary greatly in their heights and sizes. Their bodies do not grow any hair or have any skin, but they do slowly acquire a slight hue or gradient of colors over their lifespan.
Alea Slime Traits
Slimes gain 2 traits early on in their lives, the ability to squeeze through small spaces and the ability to control their detached pieces at will.Unnatural Body
Due to your body's gelatinous nature, it has properties that are unnatural for a humanoid creature. This translates into the ability to move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide. Just as well, you gain the ability to increase or decrease your size between 1-6 feet at will, or as a bonus action in combat. Although these abilities have been given as a base for your potential, it is up to you and your DM to decide the limits that your body can handle.
Detached Control
Whenever you fall below 25% of your total Hit Points, the pieces of your body that have been sheared off come alive again. These body parts come together into one mass and appear 5 feet further than your current walking speed, are controllable up to 100 feet away, and dissolve outside of your vision or after 5 minutes. In combat, they share your initiative and take their turn right after yours. These body parts' actions are limited to only being able to cast spells that don't require concentration or health to cast. The detached parts may also make melee attacks so long as they have the weapon, and ranged weapons require their respective ammunition. The body parts have 10 hitpoints and share your stats, but have disadvantage on all saving throws and checks, not including attack rolls. And finally, if the body parts return to you, you regain 1d8 hitpoints (2, 3, and 4 eight-sided dice at levels 6, 10, and 14).
Darksight
Due to the many years you have spend slowly collecting enough energy to spawn, you have become used to the darkness, as if it's a part of you. (Gain 60ft darkvision)
