Álfarin Traits

Touched by the Celestials and born of the Elves

Language Proficencies

The Álfarin are always fluent in at least Elvish and Primordial in addition to Common due to their heritage.

Elf Weapon Training

You have undergone classical Elvish weapons training to be able to wield a longsword, shortsword, shortbow, or longbow confidently in battle.

Ability Score Increase

Due to their heritage of being both Elf and Aasimar the Álfarin have an Ability Score Increase of Charisma +2, Dexterity +2

Darkvision

Darkvision: Blessed with a radiant soul and your elven heritage, your vision can easily cut through darkness. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Celestial Resistance

Because the Álfarin are touched by a celestial being like the Aasimar they have a resistance to both necrotic damage and radiant damage.

Healing Hands

As an action, you can touch a creature and cause it to regain a number of hit points equal to your level. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Light Bearer

You know the Light cantrip. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it.

Keen Senses

You have proficiency in the Perception skill.

Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Trance

Just like Elves the Alfarin don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep. They can also sleep but it is not needed.

Mystical Song

Because the Álfarin are decended from both Elves and a Celestial they are more in tune with living beings and can feel a divine song within them that connects them to the goings in in the world. The mystical song provides them with insight into the happenings of the world as well as a power to tap into. When the Álfarin express the song within them others are entranced justly by the songs truth and beauty. The Álfarin express this mystical song through singing or playing a musical instrument.

Wood Elf Protector

As a child of a wood elf, you have keen senses and intuition, and your fleet feet carry you quickly and stealthily through your native forests. This category includes the wild elves (grugach) of Greyhawk and the Kagonesti of Dragonlance, as well as the races called wood elves in Greyhawk and the Forgotten Realms. In Faerûn, wood elves (also called wild elves, green elves, or forest elves) are reclusive and distrusting of non-elves.

Your Wood elf parentage shows in your features. Wood elves have skin tends that to be copperish in hue, sometimes with traces of green. Their hair tends toward browns and blacks, but it is occasionally blond or copper-colored. Their eyes are green, brown, or hazel. These sort of features can show in your character.

Being a Protector Álfarin you are touched by a radiance that never quite leaves you. You can summon wings from your back to fly and at level 4 they are summonable whenever it is willed.

Ability Score Increase

Your wisdom score increases by 1.

Radiant Soul

  • Radiant Consumption. Starting at 3rd level, you can use your action to unleash the divine energy within yourself, causing a searing light to radiate from you, pour out of your eyes and mouth, and threaten to char you.
    • Your transformation lasts until you end it as a bonus action. During it, you shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet, and at the end of each of your turns, you and each creature within 10 feet of you take radiant damage equal to half your level (rounded up). In addition, once on each of your turns, you can deal extra radiant damage to one target when you deal damage to it with an attack or a spell. The extra radiant damage equals your level.
    • Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Fleet of Foot

You are used to walking and running through the forests, grasslands, and other wild places. You are quiet and quick, your base walking speed increases to 35 feet.

Mask of the Wild

You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
