Homebrew Axolian Species Details

Axolians are a race of small-human-sized Axolotls, their bone count and density is lessened compared to the average human though their flexibility and swimming speed easily makes up for their otherwise obnoxious physical limits. Axolians are natural masters of Olde Atlantic, as it is often their first language with English or Spanish as a second, often resulting in a very 'silly' accent that sounds almost British and Australian in pronunciation yet Caribbean in nature and flow due to the location of most remaining Atlans in the Carribean and North Atlantic seas. Axolians have a natural affinity for collecting and team effort, often staying in packs from 5-8 and rarely ever being seen alone; These pack bonding strategies are so engrained into their survival that they will pack bond with any creature that is not shown to be a threat !

 

Buffs:

• High swim speed
• Dexterity +2
• Resistance to Bludgeoning
• Burrowing speed +1 when underwater

Flaws:

• Lowered walk speed by -10
• Cannot be without water for more than 2 hours
• Weakness to Piercing
• Debuff when using Sleight of Hand [due to larger structure]

Axolian Traits

I speak directly, No use bandying words around. I am quick to react but often not right in doing so. Those born 'neath the waves are forever, just as the big blue. The seas I was birthed into will forever be my Anchor. Unable to breathe above water.

Bubble Blower

Player can breathe underwater naturally but is unable to adapt to breathing air, they can hold their breath for up to 2 hours till fainting and/or death occurs.

Squishy

Having less bones means more meat ! It also happens to mean that you are almost entirely free from the confines of your own form, though to a lesser degree than an octopus.
