Homebrew Avisans Species Details

Avasians became one of the most upfront desired transformations after the bomb. Growing wings and being able to fly has extremely desired traits, as well as talons. They became highly desired for specific jobs in construction and the military. They are even rumored to be offered higher pay than others for their specific skills.

Beak and Feather

From the sky, an Avasian can appear to be a normal bird. However, when meeting eye to eye with one, you realize they have a few human traits that differentiate them. They mostly contain bird traits except for the fact of human height, being anthropomorphic, and feathered appendages that act as fingers. They sport many familiar bird traits, colorful plumage, beaks, and inverted legs, with talons for feet. They come in many different colors and patterns, the options almost seem limitless. There has been no discovered pattern between ethnicity and certain plumage.

Sky Natives

It is rumored that Avasians used to be able to fly for months on end in the original version of their kind. After the bomb, they have more weakened versions of their genes from their theory. Only being able to fly for a week at most in the sky without landing on the ground. Scientists believe with training after a few years some may be able to fly for up to a month with proper preparation.

Homelands

Certain groups of Avasians have decided to establish Avasian-only societies in extremely high-altitude areas. These contain extremely exclusive membership and don't often leave outsiders due to fear of exposure. Espionage has begun between Atlantians and Avasian-only societies to figure out traits and secrets each other is uncovering about their heritage, rumors of them being sworn enemies of their family legacy arise as they uncover more about themselves.

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Flight

You have a flying speed of 50 feet. To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor.

Talons

Your talons are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
