Age

A bear lives about 20 - 30 years.

Size

Bears are large sized.

Speed

You have a walking and climbing speed of 40 feet.

Languages

You speak Common and 1 language of your choice, you also can speak to other animals.

Ability Score Bonuses

You have a +2 to Strength and Constitution.

Bonus Proficiencies

Animal Handling, Athletics, and Nature.

Animal Bond

You have advantage on Nature and Animal Handling checks.

Intimidating Presence

You have advantage on Intimidation checks

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Savage Attacks

When you score a critical hit with a melee weapon attack, you can roll one of the weapon’s damage dice one additional time and add it to the extra damage of the critical hit.

Keen Smell

The bear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Bite, Claw and Hug Attacks

  • Claws attacks are 1d10 slashing damage.
  • Bite attacks are 2d6 piercing damage.
  • Bear Hug. If your claws hit you can also hug the target as a bonus action and inflicts 2d10+(Strength Modifier)+(Proficiency Modifier) bludgeoning damage and becomes grappled. The Target makes a DC 16 Strength Save to take half damage on a successful save.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Natural Armor

You have thick fur and strong skin. When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Constitution modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.

Gift of Awakening

You gain the Mage Hand, Primal Savagery, Resistance, and Thunderclap cantrips. Also at 3rd level you gain access to 3 out of the following 6 spells, Beast Bond, Cause Fear, Detect Magic, Disguise Self, Hunter’s Mark, or Identify. At 5th level you gain access to 3 out of the following 6 spells, Alter Self, Earthbind, Enlarge/Reduce, Knock, Locate Animals or Plants, or Summon Beast. At 6th Level you gain access to 2 out of the following 6 spells, Conjure Animals, Dispel Magic, Fear, Haste, Summon Fey, or Thunder Step. Lastly at 8th level you gain access to Dominate Beast. Your spellcasting modifier for these spells is Wisdom and can cast them a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier. You can also cast them normally if you have the appropriate spell slots available.
