Posted Jan 30, 2021I don't want to be too rude, but this race is ungodly broken.
Having a +7 in a race would already be far too much, but the multiple major transformations? the excessive resistances? Quickstep??
While I can assume that some of these things are OP through error (demonic aura not saying that they become immune for 24 hours if they pass the save, never stating a limit to how many times you can try and transform, not saying that your darkvision doesn't work in magical darkness, etc.), this race needs a massive downscaling.
For one, scrap ascended, quickstep and the fire immunity entirely. They're far too powerful on their own. Also the transformation stuff. While one of the issues is that they are brutally overpowered, they're also a bit of a mess tracking wise.
For the next step, downscale some of the other abilities. Say, make demonic aura a 1/short rest ability, which gives you more control in exchange for less usability. Or for the resistances, instead of getting 4 resistances (one of which being physical), make it a pick between having cold, fire or necrotic resistance. Also, +2 str and +1 dex instead of +4 & +3. Finally, adding that your darkvision doesn't work in magical darkness.
Now for the transformations, I recommend using something like innate spellcasting with alter self to allow a disguise as human, give it a 1/short rest and all of the transformation issues are resolved.
I really do hope this race gets improved in the future, but in its current state...it's just not usable.

Posted Feb 1, 2021Thanks for the feed back to be honest I made this to experiment with the homebrewing feature in dnd beyond and I didn't know much about dnd when I made this but I might come back and balance this race in the future.
