Homebrew Darkling Species Details

These beings vary in size and shape but are generally small 3-4ft tall. they have gray skin and black hair. Many of them have small horns. Eyes glowing from yellow to red. They are nimble and cunning. Very intelligent and charismatic. They prefer shadow or night and will only venture out in daylight under the cover of clothing. Not the most social of creatures but they will form bonds that they will defend to the death. They live in caves and deep forests. They are disliked and untrusted by most races as they are seen as bringers of death and darkness. They are often mistaken as gnomes or halflings, as long as they can stay mostly covered, which makes interactions easier.

Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
