Homebrew Wemic Species Details
On the world of Kirris, on a far distant continent lies the vast open grassland known as the Graze. This is a vast area home to a great many peoples from the herds of centaurs that wander the prairie to the colonies of burrowlings that live under it. Another race lives here: the prides of wemics that prowl through the tall grass.
In some ways, these creatures resemble their centaur neighbors very closely. They, too have the lower halves of animals, lions in their case. In addition to their tauric forms, they also have heads resembling lions, with males often supporting impressive manes. They often paint their bodies with patterns unique to their prides and cover themselves in makeshift jewelry.
Wemic culture places a great deal of emphasis on their reverence for nature. In particular, they give thanks to the beasts of the plains for providing them the food and raw materials they need to survive. The hunt is very important to them, to the point that some prides hunt sentient beings, such as centaurs.
Wemics rarely range beyond the Graze, but sometimes one experiences an intense wanderlust. Few among the wemic prides understand this feeling, but they accept it nonetheless. Other wemics take to the adventuring life when their pride is slain. Some leave to join new prides, but others find an adventuring party a viable substitute.
