"HORRIBLE BUZZING SOUND"
-The Queen.
History
This race of humanoid bees are all the children of the Queen, A colossal queen bee with immense power. The Apimagni hive is located within a hollowed out mountain where the Queen is protected by and provides for her children.
Appearances
Standing between 2-7 feet tall, the Apimagni Populi have sturdy chitinous bodies, two sets of arms and a set of clear wings. Their bodies are a random assortment of black and yellow of all shades and patterns, while many appear similar, they are all unique.
Apimagni Populi Names
The Apimagni Populi do not have proper names. Amongst their over hive-mates they all identify each other through unique pheromone signals which do not translate to proper language. It is up to the Apimagni Populi to choose their own name if they wish when they venture out into the world.
Apimagni Populi Traits
Your Apimagni Populi character has the following racial traits.Creature Type
You are a Monstrosity.
Size
You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you select this race.
Alignment
The Apimagni Populi are Lawful Neutral abiding by the laws of the hive above all else.
Speed
Your walking speed is 30 feet.
Chitinous Carapace
While you aren’t wearing armor, your carapace gives you a base Armor Class of 13 + your Dexterity modifier.
Secondary Arms
You have two slightly smaller secondary arms below your primary pair of arms. The secondary arms can manipulate an object, open or close a door or container, pick up or set down a Tiny object, or wield a weapon that has the light property.
Hivemind
Apimagni Populi do not possess vocal cords and cannot properly speak other humanoid languages. Instead you use telepathy to convey your thoughts. You have the magical ability to transmit your thoughts mentally to willing creatures you can see within 120 feet of yourself. A contacted creature doesn't need to share a language with you to understand your thoughts, but it must be able to understand at least one language. Your telepathic link to a creature is broken if you and the creature move more than 120 feet apart, if either of you is incapacitated, or if either of you mentally breaks the contact (no action required)
Sleepless
You do not require sleep and can choose to remain conscious during a long rest, though you must still refrain from strenuous activity to gain the benefit of the rest.
Flight
Because of your wings, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You can't use this flying speed if you're wearing medium or heavy armor.
Stinger
You have a stinger that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Posted Mar 23, 2023I have a few questions. How long do the Beeple live on average and, most importantly, do they die if they sting another creature?

I'm unsure how long this race lives as I'm not the official creator I just made it accessible on dndbeyond. As for if they die after stinging a creature I don't believe they do.

Posted Mar 25, 2023Creator here! I’ll say the Populi live for up to 150 years. And no they don’t die if they sting someone, Queen patched that out of her kids a few centuries ago
