Homebrew Child of Elya Species Details

The Children of Elya were originally a congregation of Elven worshipers that followed the Goddess of Death Elya , during their studies and worship they developed the dawn sacred ritual of “Rebirthing” where they offered their babies to the Goddess. The children were absorbed into the Shadowlands and were raised by the goddess to serve her needs. Most of them have continued to serve her, while others are sent into the material plane to fulfil their duties to Elya in other ways.

Over time the congregation of Elya ’s worshipers in the material plane are thought to have been eradicated by rival worshipers of the Goddess of Life Myla leaving the population of the Children of Elya  to go stagnant within the Shadowlands, it is unknown how long the Children of Elya  live for.

The elves were Fey like the rest of their elven kin; now they exist in a state between life and death, thanks to being transformed by the Goddess, having been stripped of physical feeling inside the Shadowlands once they come to the material plane they struggle to comprehend all feelings related to a physical body

Children of Elya  have ashen skin tones while in the material plane, and while they’re in the Shadow realm their bodies take the shadow form and hold no physical mass like a spectre.
