Homebrew The Fallen Species Details

This race is few and far between, there have only been a few hundred Fallen in existance for the last 600 years, the Fallen mask themselves in a humanlike form in a desperate attempt to remain unseen and unrecognised, the Fallen are gods cast out of the celestial realm hunted for all of their existance in the mortal plains by the holier than though brothers and sister up above, however all is not lost to these fallen gods as not all their power has left them, with great cost to their health a Fallen can transform into a vessle of their previous powers be it a shadowy darkness or a magnificent light, the fallen take form as what their aspect was in godhood; War, Nature, Water, fire, earth, health ect.

They resemble their previous godly selves in a mortal form, they can live near indefinatly as long as they don't meet a violent and gruesome end.  Their celestial features that hint at their heritage, often begin subtle and become more obvious when a Fallen transforms and reveals their full celestial nature or as they grow older and older losing grip of their mortal form if they don't create a new one in time. The Fallen's Celestial Features table has examples you can choose or use as inspiration to create your own.

Creating Your Character

Special Traits

The Fallen start out looking like their chosen huminoid vessle but as the Fallen progress they can create a bond with a single animal, learning to change their form into the bonded animal.

The fallen are also able to create a presence of their previous selves, be it to intimidate or create wonder.

The Fallen are able to transform themselves into a godlike from of themselves for a limited period of 1 hour (this time may increase as your character increases in health and level), and to great cost to their health, once they have transformed, they gain access to increased strength and speed, that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character.  As well as this certain powers that are agreed upon by you and your DM can be given in this form. e.g. a powerful whip attack with your power, or an attack like magic missle with your character's power. These abilities will be lost once you return to your humaniod and animal forms.  This form is a Monstrocity, Celestial, or Elemental type creature, again depending your chosen aspect and reason for being cast out of the celestial realm.

Ability Score Increases

When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. Follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy. The “Quick Build” section for your character’s class offers suggestions on which scores to increase. You can follow those suggestions or ignore them, but you can’t raise any of your scores above 20.  As well as this a Fallen can add a 1 to any score they desire.

Languages

Your character can speak, read, and write Common, Celestial and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Player's Handbook offers a list of languages to choose from. The DM is free to modify that list for a campaign.

Life Span

Height and Weight

The Fallen range drastically in height to one another, being able to change their size at will, however most of the time the Fallen stay around medium or 5-6ft. The fallen remain standard when it comes to weight typically staying within expected ranges for their size.  All physical traits depend on the Fallen's aspect.

Godly Form

When you reach 3rd level, choose one of the revelation options below. Thereafter, you can use a bonus action to unleash the celestial energy within yourself, gaining the benefits of that revelation. Your transformation lasts for 1 hour or until you end it as a bonus action. Once you transform using your revelation below, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest:

Deadly Presence. Your eyes become pools of darkness, and a ghostly, terrifying arua surrounds you. Creatures other than your allies within 20 feet of you that can see you or 10 feet around you (no line of sight needed) must succeed on a Charisma saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or become frightened of you until the end of your next turn or until the transformation ends.  Once on each of your turns, you can deal extra necrotic damage to one target when you deal damage to it with an attack or a spell or deal 2D6 to all living creatures 10 feet around you . The extra necrotic damage equals your proficiency bonus plus 1D6.

Holy Strength. Searing light temporarily radiates from your eyes and mouth, and a magnificent aura of holy justice radiates form your form. For the duration, you shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet, and at the end of each of your turns, each creature within 10 feet of you takes radiant damage equal to your proficiency bonus plus 1D6. Until the transformation ends, once on each of your turns, you can deal extra radiant damage to one target when you deal damage to it with an attack or a spell or choose to heal one ally of any affects or 1 health to your chosen ally. The extra damage equals your proficiency bonus.

Holy Aura. You become the holy presence you once cherished and beautiful calm befalls all allies and non enimies in a 20 feet radius of you removing any paralysis and frightend conditions. Until the transformation ends, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed, and once on each of your turns, you can heal 5 living non hostile creatures you choose of all wounds in a 10 feet radius of you during the time you are transformed or revive 1 dead creature in a 10 feet radius of you.
