Homebrew Aegyl Species Details

A winged hume-like race that once populated Ivalice just as much as any other. They are often known for being cold and aloof, typically not having or showing any emotion at all. The aegyl are very xenophobic due to their enslavement by sky pirates. 

The aegyl are vegetarian, eating primarily fruits and vegetables. They prefer the damson, a fruit that grows in Bosco Pampa. They wear very light clothing and jewelry so as to not inhibit their flight.

Aegyl Traits

Skilled in flight and close-range combat.

Flight

The user is able to fly at the cost of one exhaustion per use and per hour spent flying.

+2 Dexterity

Due to the innate flight ability of the aegyl, they have an additional +2 modifier to the Dex stat.

+2 Wisdom

Due to the spiritualism and isolation of the aegyl race, they earn a +2 modifier to the Wis stat.

-2 Charisma

Due to their cold and aloof nature, the aegyl receive a -2 modifier to the Cha stat.

-2 Constitution

Due to their frail frame and light apparel, the aegyl receive a -2 modifier to the Con stat.

Common

The aegyl are familiar with the common tongue.

Aegylian

The aegyl are fluent and proficient in their native tongue.

+2 Perception

Due to their keen senses, aegyl earn a +2 modifier to Perception checks.

Low-light Vision

While in an area lit by small amounts of illumination, such as torchlight or moonlight, the aegyl can see just as clearly and with color as if it were broad daylight.

Eternal Hope

The aegyl resist fear and despair status effects and are given a +2 saving throw modifier against them. 

Once per day, after a natural roll of 1 on a d20, aegyls gain the lucky status effect for this one roll.

Illusion Resistance

The aegyls are keen, resisting illusion. They gain a +2 saving throw against any illusion spells or effects.

+5 Wind Resistance

Due to their natural abilities of flight, aegyls gain a +5 resistance to the wind element.

Emotionless

Due to the emotionless, cold state of the aegyls, they receive a -2 penalty to Diplomacy checks with other races.
