Homebrew Demon Species Details

Forged in the fires of hell, you stand. Above all mortals, powerful. You whisper ancient words of suffering into those foolish enough to wish you harm. You are unbreakable, immortal, you are a demon.
Infernal Birth
Sometimes confused with monsters or tieflings, demons come in many shapes and sizes. Typically adorned with large leathery wings and a pair of horns protruding from their skulls. Demons are almost always humanoid, but may take on appearances akin to hounds and other more ferocious quadrupeds, or even something smaller and more insect-like. A typical demon's skin will range in tone from green to a deep red, with typically black or darker colored hair.
Prideful and Cunning
Demons on the Material Plane often are conscripted into military service, come from noble houses, or are otherwise useful to their leader.
Hailing from the underworld, only the most loyal demons are granted entry into this plane. Mortal races often look up at you with fear and uncertainty, powerful beings see you as their equal, and most gods despise you for all that you are.
Demonic Names
Demons choose their names at birth, typically a mononym, as they have no parents in the traditional sense. Their names often come from infernal words that embody strength or aspiration. Some demons take the names of old mortals, or words from mortal languages that have long passed.
Male Infernal Names: Brutus, Boltus, Diogenes, Hemnara, Mudin, Plutarch
Female Infernal Names: Diotima, Hypatia, Jelina, Pelada, Sosipatra, Ysetrestus
Aspiration Names: Wealthy, Rage, Esteem, Desire, Bounty, Patience, Cunning
FEAR AND RESPECT
From legends of great power and scorn, some demons have claimed the fear and distrust of the masses for their kind. Many mortals will be weary of making agreements with you, and may fear you prescence.
Demon Traits
Demons come in a wide variety of physical forms, but are bonded by their infernal heritage and realm of origin.Ability Score Increase
Your Strength and Constitution scores increase by 1, and your Charisma score increases by 2, but your Dexterity decreases by 1.
Age
Demons possess an open-ended lifespan and may live as long as they are not killed.
Size
Demons come in a variety of sizes. Your size ranges from Small to Large.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Your base flying speed is 30 feet, once you reach the 7th level.
Limited Truesight
Thanks to your demonic origin, you are able to perceive magic around you better than most mortals. You can hazily see magic with your naked eye, and are adept at seeing through illusions.
Hellish Resistance
You have resistance to fire damage.
Demonic Confluence
You know the detect magic spell and can cast it at the 1st level once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 4th level, you can cast the fireball spell as a 3rd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 6th level, you can cast the wall of fire spell once with this trait at the 4th level and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
