Homebrew Wendigo Species Details
The wendigo is a monstrous race known for their insatiable hunger for human flesh. Wendigos are often depicted as gaunt and skeletal humanoid creatures, standing over seven feet tall with long, bony fingers and sharp claws. Their skin is often a pale, icy blue or white, and their eyes glow with an otherworldly light. They are known for their incredible speed and agility, allowing them to move through the forest with almost supernatural grace. Wendigos are also known for their ability to manipulate ice and snow, using their powers to create treacherous terrain or to freeze their enemies in place. They are skilled hunters, using their sharp senses to track their prey through even the most difficult terrain. However, wendigos are also cursed creatures, consumed by a never-ending hunger for human flesh. They are said to be created when a person resorts to cannibalism to survive in the wilderness, and the curse of the wendigo takes hold. As a player race in D&D, wendigos would likely have bonuses to their speed, agility, and perception, as well as some ability to manipulate ice and snow. However, they would also have significant drawbacks, such as a constant hunger for flesh that could make them a danger to their allies, or a vulnerability to fire and other sources of heat.
