Homebrew Awakened Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon Species Details

You were once a druids familiar, a rare  Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon but now you have been awakened and sent on you own journey.

Awakened Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon Traits

As a Awakened Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon you have the following traits:

Age

Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon ages are not well documented, they can live anywhere from 25 - 2500 years.

Size

Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon are medium or small sized.

Speed

You have to walk 60 feet.

Languages

You speak Common, Draconic, Sylvan and 1 language of your choice, you also can speak to other animals.

Ability Score Bonuses

You have a +2 to Wisdom and Charisma.

Bonus Proficiencies

You have proficiency in Animal Handling, Survival, and Nature.

Animalistic Bond

You have advantage on Nature and Animal Handling checks.

Keen Senses

Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon have very high awareness of their surroundings. You have advantage on Perception checks and gain the Alert feat.

Darkvision

You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Draconic Ancestory

You have a draconic ancestry. Your breath weapon and damage resistance are granted from the green dragon ancestry. Providing you with Poison resistance and a breath weapon that deals Poison damage in a 15 ft. cone (Con. save).

Breath Weapon

You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. You can use your breath weapon a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per short or long rest.

Magic Resistance

As a Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon you have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Limited Telepathy

Using telepathy, the Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon can magically communicate with any other plant based creatures within 60 feet of it.

Awaken Shrub (1/Day)

The Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon magically awakens one or two shrubs it can see within 60 feet of it. These shrubs have the statistics of the Awakened Shrub creature, except they have Intelligence and Charisma scores of 12, they can't speak verbally and only understand sylvan, and they have only the Rake action option. An awakened shrub/s acts as an ally of the Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon. The shrub remains awakened for 1 day or until it dies; until the Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon dies or is more than 120 feet from the shrub; or until the treant takes a bonus action to turn it back into an inanimate shrub. The shrub then takes root if possible. If reawakened later the shrub/s retain its memories.

False Appearance

While the Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a normal foliage.

Plant Nature

The Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon doesn't need to breathe air or water to survive. It sustains itself in sunlight and must rest in the sun for at least an hour a day.

Heart Sight

The Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon touches a creature and magically knows the creature's current emotional state. If the target fails a DC 13 Charisma saving throw, the Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon also knows the creature's alignment. Celestials, fiends, and undead automatically fail the saving throw.

Magical Creature

All the Pseudo-Plant Giraffegon attacks are considered magical.

Melee Unarmed Attack: Reach 10 ft., 1 target. Hit: 9 (2d8+ Dex or Str) bludgeoning damage.

Gift of Awakening

You gain the Dancing Lights, Druidcraft, Earth Stomp*, Encode Thoughts, Mage Hand, Message, Razor Leaf*, and Tend Plants* cantrips. Also at 3rd level you gain access to 3 out of the following 6 spells, Adaine’s Furious Fist*, Detect Magic, Disguise Self, Earth Tremor, Leaf Shield*, or Identify. At 4th level you gain access to 3 out of the following 6 spells, Alter Self, Barkskin, Blades of Grass*, Calm Emotions, Earthbind, or Hold Person. Lastly at 5th Level you gain access to 4 out of the following 8 spells, Blink, Conjure Animals, Counterspell, Daylight, Dispel Magic, Erupting Earth, Plant Growth, or Speak with Plants. At 8th Level you gain the Tree Stride spell once per day. Your spellcasting modifier for these spells is Wisdom and can cast them a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier. You can also cast them normally if you have the appropriate spell slots available.
