Homebrew CCCats Species Details
NOTE - CCCATS ARE A CLOSED SPECIES OWNED BY WELLHIDDEN. I DO NOT OWN THE SPECIES. Furthermore, this is only a guide for translating pre-existing CCCats into DnD, not a guide for making brand new ones.
CCCats, short for Crowned Clown Cats, are a species of pseudo-parasitic creatures known for their bright colors, long tongues and singular, orb-like eyes. A collection of spikes, usually on the backs of their skulls, allow for a CCCat to communicate with it’s body, as it’s glassy eye functions as it’s brain. Native to Skire, CCCats can end up in a wide range of places sue to their exploratory nature.
CCCats Traits
CCCats have external eyes which function as their brains, connected to their bodies via their Crownspikes.Hivemind Connection
As a bonus action, a CCCat can cast Message as a cantrip. This can only be directed towards other CCCats, and has no range limit, nor does it require line of sight. A CCCat can only perform this action with CCCats they have met previously.
A CCCat can send out a telepathic broadcast as a bonus action, audible only to CCCats. Any CCCats in a 1 mile Radius can hear the broadcast, and respond with their own broadcast. This does not require line of sight, or prior knowledge of any CCCats receiving the Broadcast.
Magical Eye
CCCats have Blindsight, Darkvision and True Sight. They can see through any width of material and are immune to the Blinded condition.
CCCats see magically in situations where light is inadequate. CCCats can perceive colors, even in situations where Darkvision or Blindsight would render them colorblind.
CCCats can cast Detect Magic as a Cantrip at will.
CCCats can safely move up to 20 feet away from their eye. Of they move further, they immediately drop to 0 hit points. If the Eye is not returned immediately, the CCCat's Death Saves are considered failed, and the CCCat will perish.
CCCats have a 360 degree field of vision, originating from their eye, thought their vision is most focused at their pupil.
Regeneration
CCCats can cast Cure Wounds as a cantrip on themselves outside of combat. All standard Cure Wounds rules apply.
