Abyssal Genasi

Abyssal Genasi are beings born from the union of mortal creatures and the denizens of the Abyss. They often exhibit fiendish traits and possess an innate affinity for the powers of the Abyss.

Ability Score Increase: Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age: Abyssal Genasi mature at the same rate as humans, but they can live up to 150 years.

Alignment: Abyssal Genasi are typically chaotic in nature, due to their fiendish heritage.

Size: Abyssal Genasi are the same size and build as humans. Your size is Medium.

Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision: Thanks to your fiendish heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Abyssal Resistance: You have resistance to acid damage.

Abyssal Legacy: You know the thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the ray of sickness spell once per day as a 2nd-level spell. When you reach 5th level, you can also cast the darkness spell once per day. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Fiendish Presence: As an action, you can cause your eyes to glow with a fiery, abyssal light. Each creature within 30 feet of you that can see you must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn. Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
