Homebrew Arceax Species Details

Quick and Quiet

With their padded paws, they are able to quietly get around, slipping through the tight alleyways of the Daelux empire. On average they are 4 1/2 to 5 ½ ft tall with a 3-3 1/2 foot long ringed tail. They weigh somewhere between 95 - 130 pounds. 

Arceax fur coloration comes from pink to purple, from light pastels to deep rich colors. While eye color can be from blue to pink to purple. They favor decorative but light clothing, needing to keep cool in the intense heat, geometric patterns being a common motif. Another item worn will be an Arceax family crest. Due to their tight family bonds, it is a commonality to wear one's family crest on their person. 

Charm speak 

Charm speak was a naturally occurring phenomenon no one can quite place when it started. Charm speak is a tool that can be used to make others do a command while in a hypnosis-like trance. Although it cannot happen against someone's will. There is one way to identify a person under charm speak, as their eyes will get a pinkish-magenta haze over their eyes. The strong the haze, the more powerful the charm speak.  

 Life in the Desert

The Daelux Empire is nestled in the center of The King's Tomb Plateau. Although high off the ground, there is very little suitable ground for growing crops. Most of the food is imported or dried meats. Species are also incredibly common in their diet. Uncommon now but, they can also live off blood. During an extended drought, the kingdom had quickly ran out of food, in desperation, they turned on one another living off each other's blood.

Festivals / Holidays

• The festival of rain. For many many years the country was in a serious drought, (worse than usual considering its the desert) but it left the people with a food shortage. When finally the rain came and ended that week is now celebrated yearly. It's a week long event.
• The lights festival, this festival represents getting rid of the coldness of the night. It's a holiday of love and protection. Candles, bonfires and lanterns are lit. During this time there is a race where lovers will carry their partners over hot coals.

Traditions

• it is tradition to gift a new born baby herbs and spices. It's supposed to bless the baby and bring it fortune and health.
• Gargoyles are common here, placed above doorways
• Family crests are painted on doors, which doors are usually made of fabric
• It is considered disrespectful if you don't wear your family crest on you in some way

History

It is unknown how they came to be. But they've always had a powerful empire due to the spices. But some distrust due to charm speak. Then the drought, as mentioned there was a powerful drought that swept through Daelux. Which cause the people to become thirsty, to survive they turned to drink blood. But anyway, after the war, they have turned to more of a republic.

Charmspeak although some are better at it than others The person being affected by the charm speak will have their eyes go a hazy magenta/pink. The more powerful the charm speak the dark and more prominent it will be in the eyes. to determine level charm speak, roll a d10, a ten is out of control charm speak, natural 1 is no charm speak, in the middle is controllable but takes a few lessons.
